Volatile Organic Compounds

Basics

• Often Abbreviated as VOC
• Chemicals with high vapor pressure at room temperature (see also Standard Operating Conditions )
• Useful in paints, and resins, or as solvents
• Can be a health risk and/or pollutant if not managed correctly
• Can also result from combustion and some industrial processes
• Main method of industrial reduction is with some form of a Gas Scrubber
