About

  • Term is used almost interchangeably with the Network State, though microstates imply small geographical entities, whereas the Network States focuses on networked constellations of microstates.
  • A microstate is a small city-state or similar entity which is either autonomous (its own country) or has a special arrangement for semi-autonomy from its neighboring region.
  • This could be a Special Economic Zone, a Native American Reservation, an OSE Campus, land cooperative, oversized condominium or gated community, a retirement community, or other entity with special legal arrangements.
  • Microstate Entrepreneurship is the art of creating and implementing incentive structures which facilitate a host country to accept and endorse a special economic zone on its soil.
  • One specific proposal for the microstate published in 2022 is The Network State.
