CC-BY-SA-4.0 is what we put all of our content under on the wiki, same for our design files.

Software should be GPL v3.

The license we use must be OSHWA compliant for both hardware and software.

OSHWA compliant is key.

For example, CC-BY-NC is not OSHWA compiant.

However, the OSE License requires additional information to be disclosed: see OSE License Intent.

Distributive Enterprise discloses its full production toolchains, production engineering, layouts, CAM files, BOMs, and supply chain optimization information. See OSE License for Distributive Economics - Requirements

For information on the licensing used by this wiki, see Copyright.

OSE follows the OSE License. The OSE License for Distributive Economics is a license that determines how intellectual property is handled. Our license is:

This is intended to raise awareness of distributive enterprise as a foundation for an economic system beyond artificial material scarcity - and for environmental regeneration and social justice.

We encourage attribution and sharing of derivative work.

Further Discussion on Contributor Agreements

Hi Katie and Marcin

I have re-read the results of our research:

In respect of contributions from Portugal you should require hard copy (for Contributor Agreements) but it can be scanned or faxed and the original posted.

In addition for the online form it should be set up in such a way that the system can generate for either the user or for Open Source Ecology a printable document such as a pdf which incorporates a section which states that NAME OF PERSON and email address) agreed to this contribution agreement on SPECIFIED DATE.

Inquiry

> What do you mean by 'the original posted'?

Original = lawyerspeak for signed paper

Posted = Britspeak for mailed

>For your second point - we should be able to generate a contributor agreement list for all contributors in history, or what is the statute of limitation? Is that the one year that you mentioned?

For your second point - we should be able to generate a contributor agreement list for all contributors in history, You need to do more than generate a list of who has signed, you need to be able to enable both youselves and your contibutors to generate a 'copy' of the agreement which they ageed to with their name and other identifying information such as email or ip address in it, and bearing the date on which they agreed. You don't need to actually generate the agreement but you and the contibutor need to be able to do so at any time or what is the statute of limitation? Is that the one year that you mentioned?

The contibutor agreements are concerned with patents AND copyright, in the US copyright lasts until 70 years after the death of the author, so the one year is not relevant to this aspect.
