Power-to-Gas
Basics
- Often Abbreviated as "P2G"
- The conversion of Power ( Electricity ) to Gas feedstocks/fuels
- Mainly Hydrogen via some form of Electrolysis of Water
- Methane can be produced in a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell being used as a Regenerative Fuel Cell
- Methane can also be produced via Methanation of carbon monoxide and/or dioxide
- These gasses can be used as is for fuel, or fed into chemical reactors, typically as Syngas or Reactor Hydrogen (This is then called Power-to-Chemicals or Power-to-Fuels
