Proton-Exchange Membrane

From Open Source Ecology
Jump to: navigation, search

  • A semi-permiable membrane that allows only for protons to flow through
  • Used for Batteries, Fuel Cells, and Electrolysers
  • Typically uses a Floropolymer such as the proprietary Nafion

Possible Issues

  • These are easy to find online etc, but making membranes from scratch may be very tricky, especially if using florine
  • We should look into other membrane options

Notes From Eric

  • I am not an expert on these, but I do think we should look into the possible supply chain issues of these
