Met some people in my classes at FSCJ who would see this and get thrown for a loop!

Some interpretation of some biblical thing, "mark of the beast" and all that.

Goofy, and hopefully they would either be smart/understanding enough to not get all up in arms over something goofy OR just wouldn't be involved in OSE stuff due to those ideological differences being so opposed.

But yeah odd stuff like that may be worth considering, or at least having a plan for (ie "official policy is don't worry about it, if they don't like it they can leave" etc)

Another thing would be Unlucky Numbers . Here in the USA there is Triskaidekaphobia (Number 13) which is not too major, mainly goofy stuff like hotel floors etc (The book / movie 1401 Played on this), there is also Tetraphobia in Asia, the number 4 which is pretty major. In many of the local languages "Four" and "Death" sound similar, or are near identical outside of tone, so there is some major superstition about that

Related book that is really neat is Kiss, Bow, or Shake Hands

I'm rambling, but just thought i'd bring that up, preempt some drama maybe, that or just be on the lookout!

I personally am a fan of Base 6 though so i think it's great!

One a MUCH MORE relevant note:

Textbooks / stuff like that is an area to look into. I am not a fan of the whole corrupt "ah yes pay 300 for this Algebra book that hasn't changed...since algebra hasn't changed since..." kind of stuff, but up to date reference material can be good for some contexts

GRANTED also with Stuff being Freely Available online this may be less of a concern too:

    • OSHA has all their regulations online for free, given they are government property/rules
    • The NEC probably *should be* public domain for a similar reason, but for now is basically behind a major paywall
      • I have a 2019 Copy, and will probably have the latest soon, so could maybe donate or consult if need be
      • There are great websites that essentially turn a FAQ / Support Page into a Quote Page of the code so almost fulfill having a freely available online version
    • At least for newer people like me being able to use "ctrl + f" and look up whatever term makes things WAY easier navigating around
      • GRANTED between the table of contents, and Codebook Tabs , as well as just experience paper copies aren't too horrible
        • I looked up the term for what the cuts in some dictionaries for each letter are too / how that is done, can add in later

Also for things like Welding, Weld . Com has an AMAZING YouTube Channel with full on Lectures / Introductory Videos / Sources, so books for that are largely unnecessary

Granted this is an Apprenticeship Operations page so all that spam may fit better elsewhere, but i can post useful channel's links etc sometime. I also can scan in the practice electrical wall worksheets / conduit bending problem sheets we used in the hands on lab (got permission to so not even any ambiguity on liscensing)

Between that and OpenStax etc that's about all i can think of for now, i'll keep you posted

Neat thing on this bit: "=Duties - Builders=

  • 40 hrs"

is the whole Extending the work hours/work days protections most face to Blue Collar Work which is often left out of those discussions, so that's neat.
