Talk:Fish Trap
So just as a kind of footnote to this, traps are more regulated than line fishing due to their effectivness. A fishing weir, a type of fishing device used all over the world, is so effective that they are known to drive species extinct, or near extinct. This is especially true when they are deployed on river mouths. Granted the impact is far less with smaller designs, but users should still be cautious. Check your local regulations. In florida, where I live, individuals with a fishing lisence can operate one, but no more than that single trap.
