Talk:Ikea Lack Enclosure
I’m doing a PILE of things today, but I’ll probably try and get some of these brackets printed right now.
I got the printer all set up in the guest room type thing, printed a test print after all set up+calibrated (between moving it around, and it sitting in my room with no Cloth Dust Cover type thing over it, i wanted to be sure all axis were greased up+running smooth
Anywho, I’m pulling up the brackets on printables, moving them to the sd card and I’ll have some of those done soon!

About a 6 Hour 15 minute or so print for the corner bracket.
Getting the model sliced and all that took forever, that old vaio computer with all it’s bloatware is a MAJOR timesink lol. A Raspberry Pi Laptop type thing may be good. I don’t need a huge GPU, just good enough specs to run maybe 25 or so chrome tabs and/or run a slicer/cad for a bit and MAYBE cam software
I’ll probably de-stress for a bit then document stuff on wax post-that candlemaking thing i got at Michael’s
(Sadly all this rain from that Tropical Storm in Louisiana is making my Pyromaniac plans not work lol

- So the first print ‘’’did’’’ print successfully, but barely; the Organic Support fell over
- While I don’t 100% know if those overhangs are necessary, for now i just made the diameter setting and the border around supports (i forget the technical names in Prusa Slicer but TLDR supports are thicker and better anchored)
- ’’’The print with the updated settings was about 6 Hours 20 Minutes’’’
- I used 5 Vertical and Horizontal Shells and 25% Gyroid Infill which even with just PLA seems ‘’’VERY’’’ strong, i was watching a video on Comparative Analysis of 3D Printing Infill Patterns and Gyroid seems to be one of the best (along with cubic and hexagonal + some derivatives)
- Testing in more cases may change the data a bit, they did a rather limited bend snap or stretch snap test if i remember correctly
- Finding OS Options for FEM Optimized 3D Printing Infill would be neat too
