This manual is for for executives, contractors, collaborators, members, advisors, [[SME]]s, and other team players.

We seeks to operate upon [[Principles and Psychology of Operating a Business in Paradise and Abundance]]


OSE is a social experiment. It is also a radical experiment in open source economics. As a voluntary organization, OSE intends to have no employees. Please understand the distinction between employees (a legal term) and other forms of developers: executives, contractors, volunteers - where voluntary work does not mean that a person cannot get paid. This is counterintuitive with respect to the taxable wage system, but we believe that global transformation can happen only when people cease to engage in distasteful or unethical work simply because they are getting paid. The motivation has to shift to motivation determined by self-determination theory. This is a significant challenge because the largest corporations have huge employee payrolls. OSE is an experiment in achieving global impact with capital distributed in ways other than employment contracts.

As an economic experiment, OSE operates as an organization with boundaries open to participation. This operations manual should reflect this - but that means that traditional corporate structures are evolved to reflect self-determination theory. We believe that this is a prerequisite for global transformation away from alienating, unethical, dangerous, corrupt, or otherwise foul work.
