Electric Motor Controls (EMC)- these are electronics that are capable of infinite control of motor speed. Can't have a car without one. Variable speed control eliminates the need for pulleys and gears - and is a great simplification. The key is to make an infinitely scaleable controller – from a fraction of a kilowatt to about 100 or more kilowatts – for controlling power at any level.
