Basics
- The part of Activated Carbon 's Product Ecology on the producing (and possible external recycling) end
- SHOULD be all open source etc
Workflow
- Basic Overview (in order from beginning to end(s) :
- Charcoal is collected (From a batch, or continous kiln)
- Optional Mix In Of Saturated Activated Carbon
- Shredding/Powderization ( Open Source Shredder and/or Open Source Hammermill and/or Open Source Ballmill
- Carbon powder is washed (most likely water, can be fixed bed, or fluidized
- Water is seperated and treated (most likely via municipal servces and/or Evaporation Ponds
- Carbon is Dried (Solar Dryer Most Linkely
- Carbon is Activated (Ozone+Water or thermal)
- Carbon is either stored/used in pellets, or in powder form ( Open Source Charcoal Pelletizer )
Internal Links
- Activated Carbon
- Open Source Fuels Construction Set as it is essentially modified charcoal, most of the machines are the same short of the activation
