Sun August 3, 2014

worked on the outhouse with Greg and Ellena

repaired left front wheel of LifeTrac 6 with Churchill. axle broke because of drilled hole for wheel attachment (needs redesign), holes of coupling flange (shaft/wheel) didn't line up correctly, used brute force to assemble.

Midnight welding lessons with Devin

talked with Marcin about setting up a skype-conference with my professor about CAD-design assistance from JKU students

solenoid valves have to be opencentered which Marcin didn't tell me when first giving me the assignment and kills my previous designs which are closed centered

Marcin asked me to start designing openSource solenoid_valves for 30 gallon per min at 3000 psi pressure.

Started research on the matter. Electrical controlled valves are necessary in order to remote-control machines from the GVCS. However, the solenoid valves for the power level of interest cost about $300 per double-acting channel. There is thus A strong case for open source solenoid valves, which we could produce for probably 1/5 of that cost.
