Uses

Fuel Synthesis

  • Fuels can be produces by gasification of charcoal to produce CO and H2, followed by synthesis of longer chain hydrocarbons with iron catalyst. This is called Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. [1]

Soil Improvement

Engine Fuel

Gasoline engines can also burn gases generated from charcoal that is burned using a gasifier. This is an accessible transportation technology today.
