Basics

  • The conversion of some form of recylcing/waste material into a material in a different use case, with higher utility
  • Unlike the concept of Creative Reuse this page goes into more technical applications

As Aggregate

  • Clinkers, Slag , and old cement/concrete debris can be used as aggregate in new Concrete mixed
  • Some processes may be needed to obtain the proper particle size

As Insulation

As Breakwater Material

  • Clinkers, Slag , and old cement/concrete debris can be used as material for roads/paths in a similar manner to gravel
  • Some processes may be needed to obtain the proper particle size, and geometry
  • Also, given in this use case the material will be exposed to the enviroment and people, research/testing needs to be conducted to ensure it is not toxic (mainly as a leaching risk, but dust inhalation / bioaccumulation are also potential risks

As Road Material

  • Clinkers, Slag , and old cement/concrete debris can be used as material for roads/paths in a similar manner to gravel
  • Some processes may be needed to obtain the proper particle size, and smoothness
  • Also, given in this use case the material will be exposed to the enviroment and people, research/testing needs to be conducted to ensure it is not toxic (mainly as a leaching risk, but dust inhalation / bioaccumulation are also potential risks
