Basics
- A Part of a Petrolium / Bio-Refinery that takes lower distillates from things like the Fractional Distilation Column / Vacuum Distilation Unit (So Bio-Tar etc), and converts them into Syngas , Higher Distillates , and Petroleum Coke
Current Methods Using
Delayed Coking
Fluidized Coking
- Same concept really, but with a Fluidized Bed
Flex Coking
- Adds a system for Gasification of the resulting petcoke
- Allows for flexible production of either petcoke and syngas, or just syngas, etc depending on needs
OSE Workflow Plotting
- Sort of Flex Coking+
- Essentially be able to produce:
- Bio-Asphalt
- Bio-Petcoke
- Bio-Tar (Maybe not this? Also the tar vs asphalt mess)
- Syngas
- and Hydrogen ? if this is a single facility, and sending it off to another part of the Eco Industrial Park to accomplish this isn't an option
- Or some combination of any/all of these
- This is because while tar is less valuable (?), OSE may vaule Asphalt Concrete for Pavement given it's recyclability?
- Need to review if the potential runoff / emissions is an issue?
