Introduction

OSE has been documenting its Design sprints since 2013. Design Sprints are a way for the general public to contribute to OSE development. We have found that in order to make Design Sprints work, each collaborator must have a basic level of Collaborative Literacy and technical qualifications to contribute meaningfully. To facilitate design skill learning, we have created the OSE Design Guides. Now you can learn basic design techniques.

Next Steps

The next steps are to implement certification procedures such that individuals can verify their skills. For any new Design Sprint, we will list Prerequisites - the basic knowledge which allows the participant to contribute meaningfully - which can be learned by studying the Design Guides. Certification or examination will also be offered as a peer-review mechanism that allows us to certify and onboard new contributors more effectively. Naturally skills Badges become relevant here, and OSE Certified does also at a higher level.

For the Design Sprint method to be self sustaining, leadership, reputation, upvoting site, and embeddable forum threads are required. Webinars and training courses can be included on top of free materials, so that a revenue model based on education and production can result. We favor self-sustaining activity rather than cross-subsidization. Enterpreneurship is consistent with the OSE Vision of creating a transparent and inclusive economy of abundance based on open source principles.

The Design Sprint method will be woven into the OSE Incentive Challenge as we scale collaboration to unprecedented levels.
