Open Source Video Production 101
From Open Source Ecology
- OBS Studio video capture and podcast/video/interview studio
- Kdenlive editing - setting up and sharing projects online. Google Drive or self-hosted video assets folders, edit file, subtitle file folder, effects file folder, and images folders
- Subtitles editing with open source software (Baked in subtitles for some, or pre-submit closed captions for YouTube Videos etc so one doesn’t have to rely on Auto-Captioning
- Blender (Software) graphics assets generation - templates and tutorial for generating title screens and overlays
- Clip generation for TikTok , YouTube Shorts , and Instagram
- Hashtag generation + adding to descriptions etc
- Granted as one passes certain Tipping Points it becomes a bit of a Superobject ( Dunbars Number / only so many hours in a day etc), but Social Media Management / answering questions+keeping up with comments may be advisable as well
- Making a proper OSE End Credits / End Screen or at least a Template/Workflow for that may help as well
- Basically just a “Thanks, and here are ways to contact us, or related content etc”
- User: Eric here, personally i find Narrated “click here or here” a la Colledge Humor etc a bit annoying, but a simple Jump Cut to the screen with maybe 10 Seconds of it sitting there so the replay menu doesn’t lock them out of Cards (picture equivalent of a Hyperlink for videos)
- While i am personally VERY against Clickbait and such, for non-video conference videos (which the just screenshot of the people in zoom/jitzi etc works fine), i think a Standardized Style Guide / OSE Thumbnail Template may work well
- I have a playlist on my YouTube channel pf all sorts of videos with slick editing styles/thumbnails etc so i can kind of synthesize something from that but yeah
- Main aesthetic is a sort of Clean Utilitarianism, with OSE colors/stylization
