Introduction

The goal of this page is to compare and contrast common D3D Printer models with competitor models.

Of particular interest are open-source competitor models.

If this page gets complex enough, then breaking out each model into a separate page may be warranted leaving this page as an index.

VERY low end

NOTE: This section is more relevant to low-income people, or people living in third-world or developing countries. We currently don't have a version of the D3D targeted for this segment of the population, but maybe we could (e.g. the D3D Free, D3D Cheap, D3D Low-Cost etc.) .

D3D Cheap

Basics

  • A D3D For as little cost as possible
  • Not one based of e waste, for standardization purposes, although these can be made for cheaper
  • Most likely will have a small print bed, use low melting point materials, and will have to move slowly, but may be useful for small parts, and for building additional machines
  • As of now this is experimental due to the The "Poor Can Only Afford to Buy A Tool Once" Issue

Low End

  • Ender 3
  • CR-10 etc
  • Various clones of clones of clones on alibaba etc
  • Prusa Mini (Similar to d3d universal in structure)

Entusiast/Prosumer

"Pro"

  • Ultimaker?
  • Makerforged

D3D Pro

TODO: Replace with table comparison of D3D Pro to comparable open-source competitor models.

D3D Universal

TODO: Replace with table comparison of D3D Universal to comparable open-source competitor models.
