Learning How to Be a Human
Executive Summary
Learning How to Be a Human is a core part of the entry level college-level curriculum for all of OSE's higher learning. The general curriculum of OSE's 4 year college-level program includes Architectures of Civilization, Learning How to Learn, and Learning How to Be a Human - in addition to Build-Design training - as part of integrated education aimed at cultivating future stewards of the planet. Such stewards are intended to become pillars of a world of abundance, equal opportunity, democracy, and freedom on a more level playing field: a truly collaborative world in an inclusive economy of abundance.
Curriculum Topics
- Index of Human Possibility - Or the Integrate Humans primer. What does it mean to be human? Or superhuman and subhuman? what are human capacities - physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually? Such understanding is core to understanding the limits of possibilies for individuals, societies, countries: personally, professionally, politically, and historically.
- Index of Possibility - coupled with natural resources and energy on a planetary and cosmic scale, and coupling this with evolution attained by humans to date - what are the possibilities for prosperity, freedom, and peace in today's society? We explore this for deep qualitative and quantitative understanding of possibilities for prosperity on earth.
- Humanistic Evolution - from the time one is born to the time one rests on their deathbed - how does a person evolve personally and socially to navigate a complex society? How does this effect the society in which we live in terms of getting along with one another, collaborating, innovating, and evolving as humans? Here we cover the process of how people learn to cope, get along with one another, and evolve in psychosocial integration to create a paradigm of inclusive abundance.
- Quantitative Abundance - this is the first principles study of resources and energy, and the human species interaction with such resources and energy - for creating free, democratic, and open societies that thrive. Main points are the 10000 Factor, and the 100 Factor. From first principles, Civilization Bypass is feasible.
- Multiple Intelligences - What type of different intelligences are there? Emotional, intellectual, moral, etc. Identifying the meaning of literacy in each area.
- Peak Performance - what constitutes peak performance in various topics of being human and humane - in human achievement, values, etc.
- Abundance Mindset - How to transcend the current scarcity-based economy by creating a collaborative and inclusive economy of abundance. How to cultivate the mind, body, and spirit to transcend the limits of the reptilian brain to create character and humility required for inclusive human progress.
- Human History - paleological evolution of humans from primordial slime to dominators of earth. Ethical, physical, intellectual, philosophical, technical, and other achievements to date, with outstanding unsolved issue defined.
- Mental Models and Paradigms of Humanity - exposing common mental models, philosophies, insitutions and how they came about over the recent 10000 years of semi-civilization.
- Human Augmentation - how to cultivate special powers and abilities in humans by mergining with the technosphere
- Drucker - how to make humanity more efficient and humane at the same time.
- Agency- how one matures to agency and responsibility throughout one's life, with the end state of global stewardship attained through psychosocial integration and growth. Answering the riddle of prosperity and freedom for all by cultivating self-determination.
- Soft Skills- Finishing school for the modern human. Critical thinking, adaptability, interpersonal skills, leadership, creativity, emotional intelligence, taking the initiative, conflict management, and strategic thinking.
- Collaborative Literacy - the ultimate soft skills allowing individuals be be completely inclusive, with the capacity to work personally and professionaly with unlimited numbers of others, while growing the pie for everyone. THE critical still behind an abundance mindset.
- Character - Cultivating humility as a means to the courage required to be called out by the times to do meaningful work.
