This page will hold the final version of the Build Instructions after the wiki reorganization. This is a list of pages that might hold relevant info. These need to be consolidated here: --Conor 10:00, 20 February 2011 (PST)

From this page you will find information on how to build the different models of Compressed Earth Brick (CEB) press machines that the Open Source Ecology group have designed.

Manufacturing Instructions Development Log

I started work on a word processing version of the CEB Press User's Manual on the 18 September 2011 (a few hours over one day ago). I am using OpenOffice 3.3. I intend this version to be print-friendly, and to publish the final draft in .PDF format.

As anticipated, I am encountering some hurdles to completing it, but I am steaming past them as best I can. I am trying to be as prolific as I can in commenting the .ODT source document, and describing the various hurdles (sometimes conundrums on whether to do X or Y, or explaining why I chose to do X over Y, etc.) on the GVCS Technical Development/Documentation and Instructionals subforum.

I am doing this remotely and blindly. I do not know if someone is already working on this at Factor e Farm ... but given there's no mention here and no reply to a thread Marcin made dated seven months prior to my writing this comment asking for someone to put together the build manual, I took it upon myself to throw caution to the wind and try to draft something together. If for some reason it proves a complete failure, at least it would be a model for what not to do! :P --Howard V. Agnew 09:32, 20 September 2011 (CEST)

Thad at the farm is pro-PDF but i think he's working on other stuff for the near future. for me, i think problems will arise with use and wear, notes and tweaks will needed to be made to the design/instructions, so im pro-Wiki. but, both can and will work when they are complete, so im not anti anything :D if you have any questions feel free to message me on my talk page, we can work through problems you hit. im not at the farm now but i know some general stuff or at least who could maybe answer stuff.
