OSE's List of Needed Petrochemicals

Basics

• This page aims to list all of the various petrochemicals that OSE would use in a hypothetical fully self sufficent / "closed off" ecosystem
• This is to aid in more concrete development of Bio-Refinery / Bio-Crude Refinery workflows
• Feel free to add more, until said otherwise, this list is incomplete

List

Adhesives

• Cyanoacrylates
• Epoxy
• Hot Glue
• Polycarbonate Glue
• PVA Glue
• Thread-Locking Adhesive
• Wood Glue
• Need specific chemicals for these

Alchohols

• Ethanol
• Methanol
• Isopropanol

Dyes

• Need to research dyes
• ALSO medical/scientific cell stains

Food

• Misc food dyes, flavor agents, and preservateves etc
• Not all are bad, some are very useful, and it is worth it to look into if any are relevant/needed

Fuels

• Biofuel
• Mainly:
  • Biodiesel (as a diesel substitute)
  • Butanol (as a gasoline substitute)
  • Charcoal / Coke (mainly for usage in a Charcoal Lime Kiln , or for home use)
  • CNG
  • Hydrogen
• Are any fuel additives needed (all the Octane modifiers etc?)

Lubricants

• Cutting Fluid

Medical

• Need to look these up

Plastics

• Plastics
• Essentially everything except Latex and PLA ?
• Parrafin / Wax for candles, and liners

Research/Science

• All the solvents
• Misc gasses

• Binding Agents (may just be a subset of adhesives)
• Drilling Fluid / Drilling Mud
• Hydraulic Fluid
• Rocket fuels
• Sealant
• Spray Insulation
• Transformer Oil

• Working Fluids (replacements for Mineral Oil etc) ( Heat Transfer Fluid may be a better name? )
