Formas de ayudar traduciendo
Podríamos ver esta wiki como una cuadrícula: algunos activistas/editores están interesados en líneas (un idioma), algunos en columnas (artículos) y otros en celdas (artículos concretos en idiomas concretos):
- Algunos desearían ser parte de algún equipo de trabajo (ver arriba).
- Otros están interesados en artículos específicos, no en traducciones en general.
- En el tiempo, algunos incluso están interesados en diccionarios.
Así, veremos crecer nuestra comunidad.

Traducción de la Wiki
Convención de títulos de Artículos
Utilizamos la convención descrita en Documento de Fundación de la Wiki. Así creamos subpages Ayuda:Subpáginas con código ISO 639-1 (2-letter language code). Por ejemplo:

Reglas básicas para crear artículos
- El nombre del artículo traducido Machine X será Máquina X/ES, en español. Bajo el código ISO otros idiomas tienen otras dos letras distintas.
- Incluye siempre {{OrigLang}} arriba del todo en la versión inglesa. Esto hará que se muestren activos los enlaces a todos los idiomas disponibles.
- Incluye también siempre {{Lang|Translated Title}} arriba del todo en el artículo traducido. Esto mostrará los enlaces a las versiones de ésta página.
- No olvides reemplazar Artículo traducido con el mismo título traducido que el original.
- Asegúrate de estar en la dirección del artículo nuevo a traducir, y no en traducir accidentalmente el original.
- Añade las categorías de idioma y las que procedan en el artículo.
- Cuando crees un enlace a otra página, utiliza {{LinkLang|Target page name|translated page name}}
- Cuando incluyas una plantilla, utiliza {{IncludeLang|Template name}}
- Para traducir, busca los términos que no entiendas en el glosario, y añade nuevos términos que conozcas para ayudar a otros.

Preguntas y sugerencias para mejorar el proceso
Las siguientes sugerencias son de traductores. Ellos exploran con objeto de mejorar las traducciones:
- Wikipedia muestra los artículos en otros idiomas en la columna izquierda, en la parte inferior. Por defecto, nosotros dejamos el menú de idiomas en la parte superior del artículo.
- Otra posibilidad es utilizar, si tu navegador lo permite, el Traductor de Google para traducir todo el contenido.
- Is it possible to tag a translation as "synchronised with English as of today", so that if the main page in English changes, translators will be aware that the translation needs to be updated too? There's probably some kind of script that can at least run through headings and see that there have or haven't been major changes to the structure of the page.
- Translators read almost as carefully as implementers, or sometimes even more carefully, and both may detect:
- Ways to translate something better. These comments should go in the "discussion" page of the translated page.
- Ambiguities, lack of clarity, unnecessary complexity in wording or phrasing. These comments belong in the "discussion" page of the original page in English, because once they are solved they benefit both the original and the translations. An extra benefit of writing clearly (and feedback adds to this) is that automatic translation engines will probably produce better results.
- Links to both "discussion" pages should probably become a standard, with standard phrasing such as "comments about the translation" and "comments about the English page", or better.
