Aluminum Extraction from Clay

Introduction

Aluminum is abundant, fount in clays. Clays can be reduced to alumina (Al203), which can then be turned into aluminum via the Hall-Heroult Process [1]. The maximum efficiency of the Hall-Heroult process is 6 kWhr/kg aluminum extracted. [2]
