  • OSE Developers Meeting
  • Reviewed the axis setup. Found lots of errors.
  • Added pulley to idler axis. Changed the size to 6×12×4. The 6×10×3 was leaving to much of a gap and the belt would fell through
  • Changed the size of the 4x20 Philips screw to 6x16 socket bolt to match the rest bolts (serves as shaft for the bearing). One less different item at the BOM.
  • Replaced 2 bolts at the Carriage axis with M6x30 (serve as mount of the X axis). These bolts do not exist at the BOM.
  • BOM includes some M6x40 hex bolts (not sockets) that they do not look to fit anywhere.
  • Rotated the motor 90° so that the cable adapter is upwards instead of downwards.
  • The motor shaft, in the CAD looks like it is 2mm longer(26mm) than the width of the motor axis(24mm). Needs confirmation that this is an actual bug.

put the above to some bug report page?

  • Added the LM8UU bearings inside the carriage.

BroughtFile:D3D CAD Assembly.fcstd up to the http://opensourceecology.org/wiki/D3D_Integration standards. Needs to be updated with the axes sub-assemblies

  • Started to assemble the D3D CAD file. This is just a early snapshot
  • File:D3D CAD Assembly.fcstd
  • 1st attempt to extrude the frame from the .dxf file but the dimensions were not real.

  • Nice. Whenever doing videos that people learn from, please record your voice too, as that gives more information

Sat Feb 18,2017

I used M4 nuts for the nut catcher, but for the screws I used added the https://www.mcmaster.com/#90116a217/=14gcc4s that are already in the universal axis, in order to avoid adding a new item to the BOM

Including time to learn how to convert .stl to solid objects. Got stuck in a "trap" for a while. The 2 motor .stl files had some extra unrelated faces hanging around that was causing the conversion to fail.

Working on D3D extruder Converted the Prusa .stl files to solid.
