OBI Kickstarter Project Stats. KS Reward Structuring
Is this important or relevant? If it is important, then are people willing to support it? If people are willing to support it, does it have grassroots viral potential? If it has viral potential, what would be sufficient to tap that potential?
First, look at the facts. $1.2M for an average American to secure a home. And, $360k is average price of a new home, riddling the average buyer with debt. Do people care about this? Maybe the fact is people don't, because they are too deep in the system. Do people really care?
If they care, then there is huge market potential to disrupt the status quo.
Maybe people do care, but the system is rigged for some level of foulness. Such as land access. But that does not appear to be the case, as many lots of building land can be bought for cheap in cities. In some sense, there will always be surplus land - as per person acreage is 5 on the planet, and 1 for arable land. Even Doomsday Scenarios of Land Required Per Person predict only half acre arable land per person - which is abundant given that first principle calculations state that only 1/400 of an acre is needed to feed a person with a carbohydrate monoydiet.
A person uses 1 acre of land to feed them, and a Vegetarian uses 1/2 - using current technology. A person requires 1/400 acre on first principles. See First Principle Land Requirements to Feed a Person.
So say there is plenty of land for everyone.
Then by incremental housing, if you could get a small, comfortable 700 sq ft house - loaded with eco-features - designed for expandability - then you would be paying 1/10th the cost of an average new home. Thus - the price of a new car - you have a home. Then instead of getting riddled with debt - you pay that which you would be paying for a mortgage - on expanding your small home. Is this out. Would proposition?
