Status
There was a version of the backhoe for the LifeTrac 1. In 2012, OSE started the Backhoe 2 (Deep Dig) redesign. The new backhoe will have an increased range of motion and use the Bobcat quick attach standard to attach to the LifeTrac 6.
Redesign Status
For Oct 2013 work:
- Dan Log, Cody Log, Marcin Log, and James Log.
- Development Board
- The main open issue is redesigning the main pivot so that we have somewhere to mount the hydraulics to get as close to 180 degrees of side to side movement.
- Another known task is adding bushings to all 1" pivots since they have too much slack.
For the 2012 work (most of which is still being used):
- Lenny-Wayne as as Guest Collaborative Production Director was working on the GrabCAD Backhoe Redesign for Fabrication with Aaron as project manager.
- Brian Log.
- Backhoe Log.

OSE Designs
- Oct 2013 redesign is using File:Backhoe deep dig.skp.
- This is probably the previous version: Backhoe Github Repository. We'll update this after the Oct 2013 redesign.
- Prototype 2: File:Backhoevari.zip. You'll need the VariCAD viewer. To manipulate the 3D object, press 'Ctrl+Shift+C' and left-click to move it around in 3D.
- side by side hydraulic design based on small ditch witch design. File:Backhoe sidebyside2.skp
Existing Designs
- Oily Hands has a huge list of diggers people have built themselves
- this guy has a fully documented build process for his
- Ubuildit Plans has a backhoe design that's about as simple as one can possibly get.
